Plasma Vs Serum Vs Lymph Vs Tissue fluid

Blood : Blood is a connective tissue, it consist of cells, cell fragments suspended in intracellular matrix. Blood is only liquid tissue in the body. It is responsible for transport of nutrients, gases, hormones, minerals, and electrolytes throughout the different cells and tissues of the body. It consist of two component i.e. Plasma and Floating bodies (RBC, WBC and Platelets)

Plasma :  It is component of blood that does not contain any blood cells. It is obtained after removal of cellular component of blood. it is clear liquid. It is straw colored. It takes 55% of total volume of blood. It consists of clotting factors. It can be stored after adding anticoagulant.

Serum : Serum is the liquid portion of the blood after it has been allowed to clot. It is component of blood that is solute and consist of antibodies, proteins, blood cells except clotting factors. Serum is amber colored. It lack clotting factors and contain 90% water.

Lymph : Lymph is a clear to white tissue fluid that circulates through out the lymphatic system. It is clear liquid that consists of white blood cells and lymphocyte that take part in immunity. It helps in body defense and a part of immune system.

Tissue Fluid : This is fluid, also known as interstitial fluid, found in spaces between cells and blood capillaries. All the nutrients and minerals are pushed out from the capillaries into the tissue fluid, and later taken up by the cells in the tissues. The tissue fluid, when entering the lymphatic system is known as lymph.
